Dr. Oz has this summer slim down article which has several good tips in it.
The tip that stood out to me was his "sip smart" drink. I've seen it a lot on Pinterest but I wanted to go directly to the source and see what Dr. Oz had to say.
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
optional: honey
Drink this before each meal (3x a day).
Turns out that people who exercise and don't have the proper amount of Vitamin C in them actually burn 30% less fat. I chose Florida's natural ruby red grapefruit. In just 1 cup of this you get 100% of your daily vitamin C!
When you pick out an apple cider vinegar make sure that there are no calories. My bottle does not have a nutritional label because there is nothing in it. But I have found some that do have up to 50 calories per serving- don't get those!
Dr. Oz says that "the acetic acid in the vinegar may switch on genes your body needs to pump out fat-burning proteins".
He also suggested that you can add a teaspoon of honey if the drink is too bitter for you. I have to admit the first day I tried it I had a difficult time just sipping down 1 cup- and that's even with the honey.
But it is an acquired taste. Today I drank down 2 cups with no problem. In fact I think next time I make it I'm going to leave out the honey and reduce the amount of calories.
I even tried it as a slushy. I blended up some ice and mixed in my drink. Nice and refreshing!!
