Advocare Success Story: Emily Facklam

It was the beginning of a new year and I was searching for an answer to my weight problem.  I was the heaviest I had ever been, and having a career in the beauty industry I had always felt the internal drive to get my weight under control, but found my habits were stronger than my motivation.  I needed a game changer in my life to help me put my plan into action.  When I became Zach and Heather Vogel’s nanny for their two young boys, I saw their energy and drive and began asking questions about how I could begin making some changes in my life.  I began with the 24-Day Challenge™ and dropped 10 pounds and 12 unwanted inches.* I regained energy and confidence in myself and had faith that this was a system that I could really stick with.* My purpose then became stronger than any fears I had amassed over the years and upon finishing my first 24 days, I have continued on my AdvoCare regimen and began exercising regularly.  I began introducing the Performance Elite line to my daily regimen to maximize my workouts and after 12 months of using the products, learning to see food differently and exercising, I have lost over 65 lbs, 40 inches and dropped from a size 18 to a size 6!*
AdvoCare has not only given me back my faith in myself, but a renewed vision of what I want my life to look like, not only on a health basis but also on a professional level.  If we can lead people by example and share honest, true and real results with people, they will be open to going on this journey with us, and begin their transformation of body and mind as it did for me.  After going to my first Success School, I saw that it was very common in AdvoCare to hear of stories like mine where AdvoCare has become the catalyst for changing a person’s outlook on health, fitness and responsibility.  I began to see how paying this opportunity forward for others can also build an incredible part time income by meeting others where they are and helping them begin their journey as I did over a year ago.  I will always remember where I was when I was unhealthy and lacked the motivation or confidence in myself.  Zach and Heather’s belief in me came into my life at the right time and I am very excited to see how many lives I can impact with this incredibly simple opportunity.  I know that there are lots of women out there looking for a change and do not know where to look.  I can tell you from personal experience to look no further and get started on your journey, today!

Stretching for flexibility

Stretching is such a critical aspect of life. Stretching will not only improve your athletic abilities it will also help prevent injuries. When you stretch it allows your joints to move in their full range of motion. This is also a great technique to get blood to flow to your muscles. When it comes to cheerleading stretching is a huge aspect. Why? because the focus is on flexibility. When my cheerleaders ask me how to get better jumps- my answer is always to stretch daily. So how do you stretch for cheer? - First you never want to start with cold muscles. So first thing to do is is a light jog for 5-10 minutes. After that your muscled will be warm and ready to be stretched out. - Next focus on your major muscle groups and muscles that you use frequently. For cheer, that would be your calves, hamstrings, quads and hips.It is also a good idea to stretch your back and neck. - When you stretch your right side, make sure you are also stretching your left side. - Hold your stretch
