ahh the next day pains.

So I worked on my legs/ butt both days last weekend. After not working out for the past couple months this was a bit difficult for me. I hurt so bad yesterday so i decided to make that my rest day. Mondays as a rest day works out well for me anyways. No one likes Mondays.

What is on tap for today? ABS. I love working my abs although it really doesn't show for me. I've have 2 c-sections and fear that I will never ever have that washboard look. But I know I can at least rid myself of that extra fat layer and tone up. I'm ok with never having abs of steel as long as my belly is flat.

I found this great app called Nike Training Club  It's really nice. It has over 85 preset workouts for you. It even has instructional videos in case you don't know what you are doing. You can set your music to it, share your success with friends and it will even tell you the counts as you go along. You can even unlock badges that get you rewards, like expert advice and star workout tips. I'm excited about it.
Check it out for yourself and let me know how its working for you.

Stretching for flexibility

Stretching is such a critical aspect of life. Stretching will not only improve your athletic abilities it will also help prevent injuries. When you stretch it allows your joints to move in their full range of motion. This is also a great technique to get blood to flow to your muscles. When it comes to cheerleading stretching is a huge aspect. Why? because the focus is on flexibility. When my cheerleaders ask me how to get better jumps- my answer is always to stretch daily. So how do you stretch for cheer? - First you never want to start with cold muscles. So first thing to do is is a light jog for 5-10 minutes. After that your muscled will be warm and ready to be stretched out. - Next focus on your major muscle groups and muscles that you use frequently. For cheer, that would be your calves, hamstrings, quads and hips.It is also a good idea to stretch your back and neck. - When you stretch your right side, make sure you are also stretching your left side. - Hold your stretch
