The ‘Struggle’ ISN’T Real

Listen up – I get comments all the time about how people just don’t have the time to work out. I hear it from busy moms, from people with active work schedules and active social lives. It is hard some days. I personally have struggled with this as well. So what do I do? Put it on my calendar! In my bedroom (the place that I do most of my home workouts) I have a motivation board. On this board I like to pin up pictures and inspirational quotes to look at when I am feeling tired and discouraged. I also have a small workout routine on the board- that way when i don’t know what to do or am simply to tired to think of stuff to do- I have a ready to go program right there. I like to make some kind of mark on my calendar to notate what days I worked out and when I didn't. It gives me a sense of pride when I look at the whole month and see it covered in notes from my workouts. SOME COMMON EXCUSES – AND WHY THEY DO NOT WORK: Excuse: I have kids at home to take care of ev...

My Trip to New York

If you follow me on Facebook you would see that I recently spent a day in New York City. I wish I had more time there to explore but the purpose of my trip was actually fitness related then I had to get back to life in Ohio. Let me back up to a year ago ... August 2014 ... I found CheerFit online. Through Google+ I believe. I loved the look of her website and submitted the form for a free workout... That's how it all got started. Fast forward to March and I was now an ambassador. I partnered with Danielle to help bring her workouts to my area. It was nice to be part of this program. I had all my cheerleaders sign up for the workouts. Then here we are, August 2015 and I am traveling to NY to meet Danielle in person! First let me just say that she is the nicest sweetest little ball of energy that I had the pleasure to meet! Danielle was teaching a certification class that would allow me to do what she does and I could not miss out on that opportunity. She has such a great busin...

Starting a YouTube Channel is not easy

OK can I just say that getting subscribers on YouTube is not that easy. Here are my excuses: I'm a mom (time consuming) I have multiple jobs (also time consuming) I'm not a consistent person (very organized but tend to procrastinate sometimes) rant over Real Reasons: - I don't use my kids enough. Like really kids working out is adorable. I need to incorporate them more in my videos. Also they can help film and edit. - On that same note, I have an awesome boyfriend who is also a photographer HELLO i am not using my resources. - One of my jobs is in fitness. I can totally use that to my advantage. Make Time Not Excuses! - I need to set appointments, use calendars and be consistent. I am capable! If you want to see what I have so far visit my channel and um... SUBSCRIBE. thanks love you!

Dear Abs:

Things your coach wants you to work on for tryouts

As a cheerleading coach I get so much joy and excitement at the beginning of the year. There is a rush of emotions that comes with all the preparation and planning of training up a new squad. As the year progresses you learn everyone's strengths and weaknesses. You watch the kids interact with each other, with the players, with the crowd and with you. I personally fall in love with these girls more and more with every practice and every game we have. By the end of the season I am so sad and lost that it is all over. Now that we are in the "off season" I am counting down the days until tryouts. I am planning out my practices, finding new workouts, researching new uniforms and doing price comparisons on camps. I try to keep myself busy now so I can focus on the girls later. While I am always thinking about all things cheer I wonder ... What are my girls doing in their free time? It makes me happy to see pictures on their social media of them hanging out together, visit...

Advocare Success Story: Emily Facklam

It was the beginning of a new year and I was searching for an answer to my weight problem.  I was the heaviest I had ever been, and having a career in the beauty industry I had always felt the internal drive to get my weight under control, but found my habits were stronger than my motivation.  I needed a game changer in my life to help me put my plan into action.  When I became Zach and Heather Vogel’s nanny for their two young boys, I saw their energy and drive and began asking questions about how I could begin making some changes in my life.  I began with the 24-Day Challenge™ and dropped 10 pounds and 12 unwanted inches.* I regained energy and confidence in myself and had faith that this was a system that I could really stick with.* My purpose then became stronger than any fears I had amassed over the years and upon finishing my first 24 days, I have continued on my AdvoCare regimen and began exercising regularly.  I began introducing the Performance Elite ...

Advocare Success Story: Jared Thomas

My AdvoCare Journey began July 23, 2013 because of my son. He was born in September 2001 and he was perfect. I had all the dreams that a father has when he finds out he’s having a boy. We were going to play catch, basketball and wrestle around and he was going to be my best bud. Life as weall know sometimes takes us in unknown directions, and I found myself spending much of his early childhood working and going to nursing school to be able to support my family. I traded an active lifestyle and those dreams, for the sedentary life of a student. Very soon I was overweight and unhappy, and I had no time to spend with my son. We all know that children spell love as TIME. In 2012 I graduated with my Nurse Practitioner degree and got a job in the healthcare field. I now had time to do things with my son, but I was 360 pounds. I had no energy and was a broken man physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In July of 2013 I was introduced to AdvoCare and took a chance on the 24-Day Challen...
